HOUSTON (AP) _ Charles Lacy Veach, an astronaut who flew aboard two space shuttles, died Tuesday of cancer. He also founded the allergy clinic at Milwaukee’s Children’s Hospital and established the Human Ecology Research Foundation in Batavia. He helped form the Society for Clinical Ecology, later renamed the American Academy of Environmental Medicine. Randolph founded the clinical ecology movement in 1962 with the book ``Human Ecology and Susceptibility to Chemical Environment.″ Theron Grant Randolph, a noted allergist dubbed the father of clinical ecology for his pioneering work linking the environment and disease, died of cancer Friday. Many capabilities of nuclear-powered submarines were developed while Nash headed the center.Īfter he retired, he became active in the nuclear freeze movement and served as chairman of the Southeastern Connecticut Nuclear Arms Freeze Committee.
